About the artist
My name is Moriah Baker, and I grew up in a small town in Upstate New York, where creativity was woven into everyday life. My summers were spent immersed in crafts of all kinds.
​
I’ve always been drawn to working with my hands and creating something beautiful from nothing. That passion has followed me through every chapter of my life. I earned my cosmetology license the same year I graduated high school, and while I enjoyed that path, I soon felt called to serve my country and enlisted in the Army.
After my time in the military, I moved to California and continued supporting service members by working on Camp Pendleton, feeding Marines. While there, I expanded my knowledge by attending massage school, developing a deeper appreciation for holistic healing. Around the same time, I stepped into a leadership role and have now spent over 20 years in the food industry.

In 2018, I relocated to Yuma to continue serving Marines aboard MCAS Yuma. The following year, I discovered sola wood flowers—and everything changed. I was immediately captivated by the artistry and endless creative possibilities. It was the perfect blend of painting, crafting, and design. I dove in wholeheartedly, launching Sola Flower Obsessions.

About six months into my business, I began experimenting with painting succulents—and that’s where I truly found my passion. Today, I not only create, but also teach others how to master this art form. There’s nothing more rewarding than watching my subscribers gain confidence and grow their own businesses thru airbrushing.
​
I also wanted a space where I could fully showcase my art while continuing to create and maintain a balanced quality of life. In 2024, we brought that vision to life by adding a shop onto our home. Now, clients have a dedicated space where they can browse, and purchase completed designs in person or attend hands-on workshops to create something of their own.
