A little about me

My name is Moriah Baker. I grew up in a small town in Upstate New York. I filled my summers with all sorts of crafts. I have always enjoyed creating art and working with my hands. During the Holidays we would make wreaths with fresh pine branches and berries. The delicious smell of pine is something I will never forget.

I enjoy learning new things and have had a variety of careers in my life already. I received my cosmetology license the year I graduated high school. I did that for a bit and then felt the call to serve my Country by joining the Army. 

After I left the Army, I moved to California and continued serving the Military by feeding Marines on Camp Pendleton. During my time at Camp Pendleton, I went to massage school and enjoyed learning more about holistic healing. When I completed my massage education I was promoted to Manager and have stayed in the food industry now going on 20+ years. 

I moved to Yuma in June of 2018. I was busy with my current job serving the Marines aboard MCAS Yuma. May of 2019, I stumbled upon sola wood flowers and was fascinated. It combined my love for painting and crafting into one! I jumped in headfirst and created my business Sola Flower Obsessions and soon after added Sola Flower Succulents. 

There were many learning curves, and I am forever grateful to all of my clients that have stuck with me as I have honed my skills over the years. About 6 months into my business, I started playing around with painting succulents and found my passion. I now teach others how to paint succulents and feel so fulfilled when students master the art of painting  and are able to grow their businesses. 

I am currently still working out of my home but attend art shows and events when I am able.
